The Math Inside the Venus Rose
And your cells know this pattern
The Venus cycle is one of the coolest things I’ve ever learned.
There’s so much depth within it. So much mystery and brilliance.
The piece of it that still gets me everrrryyyyy time is that Venus traces a perfect rose in the sky during her full 8-year orbit.
Not metaphorically. Like, literally ⤵
Even morrreeee ✨amazing✨ is that within that pattern lives the Fibonacci Sequence.
THE FIBONACCI SEQUENCE
The pattern the Universe uses to build everything.
Your inner ear. The double helix of your DNA. Shells. Petals. Galaxies.

HOW THE FIBONACCI SEQUENCE WORKS ⤵
Each number is the sum of the two numbers before it.
0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34...
As it grows, the ratio between each number is going towards the Golden Ratio, Phi, 1.618 🤯🤩
HOW IT WORKS WITHIN VENUS
See how the Fibonacci numbers map directly onto her cycle:
1 — Venus
1 + 2 — Morning Star + Evening Star
3 — Earth, Venus and Sun are in this cycle
5 — Venus rises as Morning Star 5 times in 8 years
8 — Her full cycle completes in 8 years before she returns to her original point in the sky
13 — In those 8 years, she orbits the Sun exactly 13 times.
1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 - she is the Fibonacci Sequence made visible in the sky.

VENUS, INANNA + THE ROSE
Inanna was the Sumerian Goddess and Queen of Heaven and Earth, worshipped from approximately 3400 to 2200 BC. Her myth of descent into the Underworld is the oldest known story to humanity; preserved on ancient clay tablets inscribed thousands of years ago. What makes it so extraordinary is how it precisely mirrors the Venus cycle, a celestial journey told through sacred myth.
The rose, Inanna and Venus have always been associated with each other. Inanna, was considered Venus and the rose was her symbol. The Sumerians brought roses into ceremony, into ritual dedicated to Inanna herself. The rose was devotion to her.
The rose that Venus forms in the sky isn’t the rose we usually think of. It’s likely that the roses of Sumerian times were something like the Wild Dog Rose species.
I’m sure our ancient ancestors didn't know Venus was making a rose in the sky, so how beautiful that they made the rose her symbol without even knowing.

YOUR BODY KNOWS THE CYCLE
I believe this is why when you learn this cycle, you're drawn to it. It's familiar. You're literally built from this geometry. And maybe that's why it can feel more like a homecoming than a “lesson.”
